Whole Foodie & Weight Watchers

I did Weight Watchers about 8 years ago. It worked. I lost around 20 pounds and was never hungry and never felt deprived. It was a great lifestyle change for me.

Then, about 4 years ago I was introduced to the Weston A. Price Foundation and its traditional way of eating. Drinking full fat raw milk and all the forested bacon I could want=one happy woman. :)

I started to make small changes in my diet to move toward a healthy traditional lifestyle. This traditional diet gave my body the nutrients it needed to grow healthy strong babies. My diet isn't perfect, but I drink fresh cows milk and eat local fresh eggs daily. I also use Kerrygold butter, organic virgin coconut oil, and extra virgin olive oil almost every day. And take my fermented cod liver oil pretty regularly. Because of all the whole fat foods I consume daily, I assumed that WW would never work for me again. But...I'm exclusively nursing my 4 month old so I get 14 extra Points Plus per day for a grand total of 40 Points Plus daily. That's plenty of Points to allow me to stick with my traditional diet.

I'm only on day 4, but it's going well so far and most days I find myself having to eat a little extra in the evening to get a my Points in.

Advantages to Weight Watchers
• encourages daily movement and gives daily Activity Points goals
• encourages a healthy 1 pound per week weight loss
• almost all fruits and vegetables are "free" now
• starts off with a 5 pound weight loss goal. Then moves to 10% goal and so on.
• offers Weight Watchers Online (which is what I'm doing) or Weight Watchers Meetings for support

Losing My Baby Weight

Rhodes is 4 months old. I gained 35 pounds during this last pregnancy. I've currently lost 25 of those. Which is great but I was overweight before this pregnancy. I started Weight Watchers Online today, and my goal is to lose 45 pounds. That'll put me where I was after doing P90X a few years ago.

I've been walking/jogging 4 or 5 days/week. It feels good to be active! I want to continue to move more! Ben and I have also been doing some circuit training and watching The Biggest Loser for motivation.

It's getting late. I'll post more details about my goals and thoughts later.
